Hallowe'en House @ Trethewey House 2011

E-mail Print

Big, BIG Thanks to all the fantastick volunteers and attendees of the 2011 Haunted House @ Trethewey House. We truly couldn't have pulled it off without you and your willingness to come and scare the pants off people.

While attendance was lower than in previous years (I suspect suffering for being on a Monday rather than the weekend), those who attended reported having a frighteningly good time, even saying that 2011's event was better and scarier than in previous years. Many people braved their way through the whole house. Many never made if past the first room before turning around and going back out. Several people actually went through more than once. We were particuarly entertained by the little boy dragging his reluctant father through the house and the group of tough teenage boys who screamed like little girls practically from the front door.

Outside, there was a colouring contest for kids age 3-12, a costume contest for all ages (which was judged by our illustrious Mayor George Peary, Mrs. Silvia Peary, and Mr. & Mrs. Chuck & Christine Wiebe), cocoa and cookies provided by the Abbotsford Optimists.

In addition there were community booths hosted by Knowledge First and the members of the Vancouver Paranormal Society who are frequent visitors to Trethewey House.

Thank-You again to everyone who lent a hand or came by to support us. We look forward to scaring... I mean SEEING... you all again NEXT year on Saturday Oct. 27, 2012.

On Oct. 31st, All Hallow's Eve, once again Trethewey House will be invaded by spooks and spectres, ghouls and goblins, pirates and princesses, clowns, cowboys and Count Draculas of all shapes and sizes...

And on that night, our happy little home will be transformed into a haven for all manner of things that go bump in the night... just waiting for you to come for a visit... lurking in the darkness...
Was that a cobweb you felt brush your arm... or was it our resident ghost just saying "Hello"?
What was that sound up ahead or in the closet next to you?

3-5pm: The "less scary" tour for the smaller kids and faint-of-heart.
All children under 12yrs MUST be accompanied by an adult.
6-8pm: The "scary" tour for the older kids and adults.

$3/person

Hot cocoa, goodies and pumpkin carving for the kids will be available too...

Come and find out just what IS creeping around that dark corner...
