CELEBRATE CANADIAN HISTORY
Like a "science fair", Heritage Fairs are a wonderful opportunity for students to research and showcase projects on a topic of their choice, that is interesting and relevant to them, and which relates to Canadian heritage and history.
Open for students in Gr. 3-7, including individual projects, groups and whole classes (however only individuals will be chosen to go on to the Provincial Heritage Fair).
For 2 full days, students will particiapate in history & heritage activities, workshops, interviews, performances and a closing awards ceremony with local dignitaries.
Teachers should contact the regional coordinator (Cindy Rowell) to register your class and receive an informational Teacher's Manual with suggestions for running a fun and successful fair, and then help students to choose a topic to research and develop project displays.
