MSA Museum is a non-profit society in BC. As such, we rely on funding from the Governement, Donors, Sponsors and the kindness of our volunteers to help run our museum and events.
By offering to be a volunteer for the MSA Museum, you are embarking on a mission to inspire and educate the community about the history of Abbotsford. We are a society passionate about our local history, and we hope you will share this passion with us.
There are many exciting and fun opportunites to volunteer at MSA Museum throughout the year. For students, these are a great way to earn your volunteer hours for school too. Some of these may include:
... Tours through Trethewey House ... Event set-up / tear-down ... Ticket-takers ... Hallowe'en House Actors and Staff ... Site Maintenance & Security ... General office help ... Collections assistance ... Wedding & other event assistance ... Kids crafts & facepainting ... School Tours ... Workshops ... Heritage Fair ... Educational Programming ... Research ... Sewing (Making Costumes & Props) ... Translation ... Board Members
Office Hours are 9am-5pm, M-F
Tours of Trethewey House are given from 1-5pm, M-F and possibly some weekends during scheduled events.
Volunteer Ambassadors require some basic knowledge and instructions regarding day to day museum operation so that you are able to provide information to visitors on the Heritage Site, the Society itself. Volunteers will receive a manual upon submitting the volunteer application and will be required to read and answer a questionnaire. Anyone under the age of 15 should be accompanied by an adult when volunteering.
If you are available and would like to donate your time, energy and enthusiasm to the MSA Museum Society please submit a volunteer application, or email
